Our Founding Fathers gave us the 2nd Amendment in order to give citizens a means to resist and protect themselves from our government, should its leaders forget their oaths of office and no longer represent the interests of the people that elected them.
Let it be known that “We The People” ARE the masters of government. We pay the salaries of those we elect to represent us. Let those we elect never forget that they are public servants responsible to honor their sworn oaths of office and to represent the interests of those that elected them -- and NOT the special interests of rich individuals, businesses and corporations that donate large sums to their campaigns!
It does not take a constitutional law professor to understand the Constitution, as it is written, or the intent of our Founding Fathers who wrote it. It means exactly what it says! Our Founders purposely did not specify any limitations as to what kind of arms a citizen may own, or how many bullets a citizen could carry. They specifically stated 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed' because they wanted to give citizens the ability to defend themselves from the government should it begin acting tyrannically.
Obviously, we hope it never comes to that. As citizens and patriots, we take very seriously our duty to protect our families, property, country, and Constitution! And if our government is overcome by corruption and/or stops representing the collective will of its citizens, it is OUR responsibility and duty as citizens to restore it.
We expect those we elect to follow the Constitution and honor the vision and sacrifice of our Founding Fathers -- that we may leave future generations with the same legacy of FREEDOM that we inherited from them, along with the SAME ability to defend it.

Whereas, Horry County hereby agrees to honor SC Title 25, the United States Constitution and Amendmwnta thereof, as well as the judicial precedence set forth in District of Columbia v Heller (2008) and Miller v States.
While America vascillate on Civil War, this is a good time for Horry Council to choose wisely.
