(HOPE for GOETHE ELEMENTARY CHILDREN - Say NO! to VERIZON AND NO TO installing   ANTENAS IN SCHOOLS. No radiation near kids!)


Dear Alderman Moreno, Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Goethe Principal-Mrs. Barbara Kargas, and Dan Mead-Verizon President and CEO:

It came to our attention that Verizon Wireless is planning to install a wireless telecommunications at the 2236 N. Rockwell St. Chicago IL 60647. This address is the address of the Goethe Elementary School. We oppose this and feel that as parents and community members and community leaders, we all have a responsibility to protect our children and our community, as this constitutes a potential health hazard for the children that attend Goethe elementary school, the teachers and residents.

 Parents have concerns and fear of potential health hazard for their children whose brains and bodies are still developing.

 Residents have fear of potential health hazard, have concerns of people's perceived health impact which in turns affects property values of this community, plus the negative impact on area character.

 Community Leaders and MOMs from NY (http://www.dontcellout.com/), (http://www.ExpelCellTowers.org) and all over the U.S.A. care about the well being of all of our children and are joining forces to protest this.

As Parents, Community Leaders, Neighbors, Residents , tax payers and Human beings concerned for the public health and safety of all children, we ask you to oppose and halt this installation. 

We pay our property taxes to improve our Schools and Parks, not to Build Cell towers on them.

This is a health concern for these children who would have long-term exposure by sitting in school for 61/2 hours a day, year after year, near an antenna tower. No one can’t guarantee that 15 or 20 years from now our children won’t have health problems. The school district needs to err on the side of caution. Our children are not Verizon's Guinea pigs.

The Alderman and the City of Chicago should NOT allow Verizon to install wireless antenna on an Elementary School and on a residential street!  

We fully fully oppose this project and we request that this is halted immediately and no antenna-tower gets installed at this Elementary school.
