Amend Hopatcong Law for Backyard Chickens

I think chickens might be allowed, but we all should understand what "properly maintained" means.

I grew up raising chickens and would love the chance to care for a small amount of birds again at the age of 55.

In the 70 's I was told 2chickens were allowed. They are a help because they eat insects such as ticks, Beatles, and other harmful insects. I know because of a family farm. Very healthy as the insects are high in protein and the eggs have a bright orange color as a result. City residents come to Hopatcong and try to change the area into the city.

Last time I looked at the chicken rule in this town you were allowed to have chickens what year did it change and why

We really want to own chickens and want the rules changed.

We should have chickens because they are helpful for some people. Some people don't have money to go shopping every week and if we where aloud to have chickens we would eat the eggs then take the shells for compost and when they stop laying family can sloter the chickens and have food for two or so weeks

Can't even see why it's illegal

Being allowed to raise my own chickens wily give me the opportunity to provide a fresh, clean and nutritional food source for my entire family. Please allow for this basic American right.

I would love chickens in Hopatcong! Especially if the residents have the land to do it.

this is America let us have chickens do we have to get all are food from out of state or country? they eat the bugs and snakes lol
