I served with Billy in An Caith Caith. We joined the DF December 30th 1996 together. Billy was a very decidiated member of the DF who gave his life so that his comrades could be safe. Billy deserves to be recognized for his selfless act of bravery which he displayed on that faithful day on which he lost his life in Service of our country. I sincerely hope that this does not fall on def ears. I also hope the President Higgins gets behind this petition to recognized a modern Irish Hero or have we already forgotten our very recent past.
