As an alumni of MVHS, who experienced loss of friends during high school, I'm all for a marble bench in Zack's name. It's not personal, and it's symbolic for all lives that were lost.

As Zach's former teacher he was a very special boy. Zach triumphed over a lot and my hope is that other students will see his bench and remember that there are other things one can do to ask for help before reaching the point Zach reached. Its too bad that Zach felt like he had to take his life in order to get the attention he was yearning for...

So the donations that would be brought in would be for the granite I would need for the bench. I chose granite instead because it lasts longer. A portion of that would also be used to pay for a professional to do the engravement and the remaining would be given to his family

That was one of my intended aims in having this bench put there. This is also a way to help others cope with loosing Zach. I felt this would be a good way to honor him

I understand stand that the Superintendent of MVHS said that many kids have died from suicide at the school so they can't do it for one kid. But maybe putting something there could detour another suicide. Maybe kids looking at the bench will realize that you may feel alone at the time but their are people that do love u out there.

Part of the Class of 2012. Come on, MV, you're better than this. If you are concerned about the others not being honored, do a fallen classmates statue or something like that. Have some respect for the dead.
