Doug Blake, HHS Class of 1968, who passed away on March 12, 2021, was undoubtedly the most accomplished athlete to graduate from Hackettstown High School. In addition to his extraordinary athleticism, he was kind and humble, inspiring and uniting an entire town with his many accomplishments, and serving as a mentor to many young athletes. He embodied the values of sportsmanship, community and service. We, the undersigned, support memorializing Doug by renaming Alumni Field, the field on which Doug played football throughout high school, to the Douglas A. Blake Field and erecting a monument to him at the newly renamed field.
