I wholeheartedly support Dick Cheatham's petition. Brother Rat Cheatham has dedicated his professional life to raising awareness of J. T. L. Preston's remarkable contribution to the school he founded for all the right reasons. Honoring J. T. L. Preston is the right thing to do.

Decisions should be made based on the totality of one's life and their importance to VMI. Ruling someone out because they were Southern or fought for their state is the type of narrow minded thinking that brought us the Taliban and Isis.
