Denise Johnson has spent her entire career dedicated to Tarkington ISD, to the growth of our athletic program, and to the betterment of our student athletes. She has shown a true commitment to not only the volleyball program, but also to the school, district, and community. Coach Johnson began working for TISD in 1981 and went on to start the volleyball program in 1986. Through her many coaching accomplishments, she has provided the skills for TISD students to enable many of them to receive scholarships towards a higher education. She has created not only a legacy of volleyball champions, but one of strong, progressive, independent, community leaders, teachers, coaches, and all-around dependable, successful individuals.
