Honor the Star Wars Expanded Universe!

The S.W E.U dersurves to be cannonized 1 way or another and It it will always be cannon to me no matter what.

I have been reading EU books since I was a teenager. They have a wealth of detail and many amazing stories to just be tossed aside and declared non-canon. I have played almost all the Star Wars video games on different platforms and currently enjoy SWTOR very much.

start respecting the fans

These stories are great, and I think at least some (if not all) of them should still be honored.

Now i wouldnt say that, I would just stick to our own EU and ignore what they are trying to do.

Tristen Gonzales, i fully agree with your comment, the truly dedicated fans know what the EU is about, and they know that if it is destroyed, that ruins peoples childhoods and years of work from authors.

I think they should have the next movies play off of the EU books, because even though there are fans that just watch the movies, we need to honor the fans that have stuck with the books and everything the entire time. If they just rewrite the EU then that means they wasted years of work from those authors and they will greatly anger the fans who have stayed loyal to the series. Even though im only twelve, i think that the dedicated fans should have a say in this as well!!

The Expanded Universe has been a strong aspect of the Star Wars Universe for decades. The books bear the trademark 'STAR WARS' logo and (Most importantly), many of the later editions carry the crest of Lucas Books on the back cover. These books ARE Star Wars: the additional adventures running before, during, between and after the films. The films have taken from the book on some key parts such as the name of the planet Coruscant from Timothy Zahn's series. Honour the EU, LucasArts! They are so much more than fan fiction

If they do this, Star Wars will be over for me.

How can anyone ignore such talented writing of an amazing story ?

So many of us fans love the EU. Please honor us fans!

Respect the fact that for years, the EU kept true Star Wars fans entertained with fresh material! You're looking at angering the majority of the fans of the franchise. How is that a good business strategy?

The Star Wars Universe is already so rich with material, why destroy it just so you can make more. There is always room for new material without getting rid of whats already there.

Don't disregard 25 years of Star Wars history!

I have a bad feeling about this. When Star Wars VII comes out at the theaters. I'm huge fan of Star Wars. When, I heard Disney was taking over Star Wars. I felt like, their ruining the original Star Wars.

As often as possible I will be posting items which honors the Star Wars Expanded Universe and keep you updated on what Disney is doing with the upcoming film and otherwise so you can see firsthand how they are definitely NOT in favor of leaving the Expanded Universe alone. And if you have signed this petition, remember to NOT SEE the movie when it is released - unless they've done some drastic rethinking and changed the script midstream, which I highly doubt is going to happen. They need to feel our strength by us not putting our money toward things which takes away from our enjoyment of a universe we have come to know intimately. That is the way business works. We just have to have enough people that are willing to say, "I would have bought a ticket, except you have not honored the Expanded Universe, so I will not buy a ticket, nor let anyone buy one for me" for them to realize just how much money they are losing by disrupting the fans. And then, for those fans to actually NOT GO will be what lets them know it is REAL and they need to take things much more serious than they are.
