Crestview is a multicultural family community. Families grow and should be able to expand their homes. And live in peace..

am opposed to the proposed R1R2-RG re-zoning I am in favor of R1 R New zoning Imposing a detached garage is antiquated and unfair. If LADBS were to go door to door and inspect the usage of these detached garages they would find that nearly 100% are not used to park cars. They are illegal guest houses and offices or just used for storage. Most do not have covered parking to comply with the current regulation. Those who oppose to attached garages are opposed due to their own aesthetics. They should not be allowed to dictate the lifestyle preferences of others. A Max. FAR of .45 on smaller lots is a de facto prohibition on 2nd stories. The opponents to building are essentially hoping families will stay out of their neighborhoods or to preserve what they believe is what a family size should be. We are multi-generational households. We have married children with grandchildren who visit often and need to be able to accommodate the changing needs of our families. We want the option to have elderly parents live with us instead of putting them in old age homes. I purchased my home with the intention of expanding it in the future to meet the needs of my family. The purchase of my home has increased property value for everyone and added much needed funds in property taxes.

The restrictions are too constricting! This is unfair to families on many levels.

The restrictions that are proposed have nothing to do with the residents' complaints. The most common complaint is that the houses are big boxes that don't match the neighborhood and are too boxy. These issues can be addressed through better architectural design, ie fitting the neighborhood better as opposed to the modern minimalistic design. Don't punish everyone. If necessary, use architectural review to create more attractive homes.

I'm a Crestview resident and the proposed ordinance will severely damage our neighborhood, raise crime and be harmful to our children.

FAR restrictions are hateful not helpful. The proposed requirement make second stories impractical in most cases. There are many ways to build a second story tastefully - that should be the focus of regulations.

We live in america - people spend millions of dollars on the american dream only to have someone else decide what they can do with their mulit-million dollar dream home purchase? this is ridiculous

The proposed building restrictions is far to extreme and unfair. Must make a compromise. Young families should not be punished by those who want to keep our needs in step with their own, personal lifestyle requirements.

I find the justifications for changing the current restrictions to be arbitrary and without justification - keeping neighborhood charm is subjective and therefore arbitrary. As such, the restrictions are a taking under the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment. If the City of Los Angeles is going to take away my property rights for an arbitrary reason, then I, along with every property owner should be compensated for this government taking.
