This petition is very misleading. I thought I was logging in to vote “yay” or “nay” and next thing I know it stated that I signed the petition. Until I can figure out how to remove my vote I would like say here in this public forum that I AM NOT in favor of this petition and would like my vote removed. So however many signatures appear here, subtract one from the total count please and thank you!

As a new fairly new resident, I feel it is unfair to be punished for mismanagement. There needs to be funds for new roads planned for in the yearly budget. 560 or so from each residence per year.

The entire roads in the Homestead subdivision is deplorable and pose a safety risk for the entire community. A blown tire could end up in bad situation and not including costly damage repairs for tires and rims.

I agree 100%. Our taxes were $5,000 in 2020. We simply cannot afford an extra $2000+ for the next x years.. i'm not sure if people realize this who have lived here for many many years.
As much as we agree that the roads need to be fixed, it's not as simple as putting the burden on us. After this pandemic, this is the last thing on my mind right now.

While I agree 100% that our roads need to be fixed I am not in support of raising our taxes so significantly to do so. I understand that maybe the majority of people that reside here have been here for years and the taxes they pay for their home is a reasonable amount and therefore the addition of an extra $1k - 2k in taxes may not seem like a lot to those people. Understand that there are also those of us that just recently moved in the sub within the last 5 years weren’t able to purchase our homes for $100k - $200k. We purchased our home for $250k+ and the taxes we pay are already around $2300 summer and $2300 winter and every year since I’ve been here they have increased. So to already pay around $4600 annually in taxes and to potentially have to pay an extra $2k annually I think it’s reasonable to understand why myself and people in my position, while wanting the roads to be fixed do not feel like raising taxes and bullying people into paying for it or foreclosing on their homes is the way. The guy I purchased my home from paid less than half of what I pay annually so I assume the people who were here around the time he was also pay significantly less in taxes. Maybe some people did not know this but now that you do I am hoping you consider this bit of information before signing this petition. After all we are a COMMUNITY and must look out for one another!

As a regular walker in our neighborhood...it would be nice to see some seasonal speed bumps or an additional stop sign at the first turnaround on both entrances...regularly folks are barely stopping and flooring it til they reach Ecorse...

I am for the resurface, but I have concerns; mix design, only milling 1.5 and 1.5 overlay (only a minimun in the industry), will there be a third party inspection for compaction...just to name a few. Working in the construction business it's clear that the depth of the potholing would require at least 3.0 milling along with a 3.0 cap. Again...I'm in favor of resurfacing the streets as long as we do it correctly. There is no point in throwing good money after bad! A 1.5 resurface won't last 10 years...maybe 3-4 before it starts to crack and crumble. Sorry for the analogy but, It's kind of like putting lipstick on a pig...it's pretty until the lipstick wears off...
As far as the drainage issues, if it's truly a problem only the County can address then why aren't our local township officall's pushing the issue? Remember them next election time!!
