Students should not be scared to go to school , we no longer have the “I feel sick” excuse .. but we have a “I don’t want to die today” excuse . This should not be our reality but it is & we have to take the next step if the higher power doesn’t . In 2018 there have been more student deaths than there have been soldiers dying in our war . I petition for parents to not register students for the upcoming school year , opt for homeschooling or online schooling .. because losing a prom is better than losing your life .

I really thought this would just be a quiet note to myself, but seeing the way this has spread shows that I am certainly not the only one grieving for our students. This momentum belongs entirely to the parents and families who decided that safety must come before everything else.

my kids are staying home this year. i cant sleep at night worrying about them at school. thank you for saying this
THIS IS CRAZY we shouldnt have to choose between education and being alive. homeschool is the only way right now.
Until I know my child will be safe....she will not return to LMHS!!!!
