Dear City Council: We, the undersigned, call upon the Davis City Council to reconsider the Memorandum of Understanding with Davis Community Church adopted on December 1 that limits services to the homeless in our community. We feel it is inappropriate for the City of Davis to place limits on these crucial social services. The non-profits and religious organizations working with the homeless in our community deserve our support, not restrictions.  These organizations engage these issues on a personal, day-to-day level and need to be allowed to determine the services they offer.   The arbitrary limits prevent the programs from operating in a humane and effective way. As concerned community members, we wish to stand in support of these organizations and request that the City Council reconsiders the December 1 Memorandum of Understanding and re-evaluate this situation.
