For a long time at Prairie Ridge and other high schools in the district, Senior classes have had their own separate dress-up days for Homecoming week. It is naturally a week that is looked forward to by every student in the school. The class of 2015 remembers thinking as freshmen about how we couldn't wait to be Seniors and have the luxury of having our own, separate themes.
And now, out of now here, we are being told that Student Council is wanting to take away our dress-up days and make everyone do the same days. Now, keep in mind, no one (not even Student Council) can keep us from straying from the assigned dress-up days. But, it has been called to our attention by rumors that Student Council is not only trying to take away our separate days...but they are trying to give away the traditional dress-up days of Seniors to the entire school. These traditional dress-up days are Cross-Dress day and Senior citizen day. We have not waited an entire three years to become Seniors and have our traditional dress-up days given away to the rest of the students in the school who have not been here as long as we have and have not waited as long as we have. These dress-up days are some of the few perks of being Seniors and in our minds it is not fair for us to have them randomly taken away the second we become Seniors and especially after watching past Seniors dress-up and having such a fun time doing it. We have a right to follow tradition as Seniors.
Keep in mind that this is not only a petition for the class of 2015, but the entire student body and future students to come. You will all be Seniors one day too and you will all want something to make your Senior year the best that it can be. Please sign this petition (no matter what year you are) and help us and yourselves keep this Prairie Ridge tradition going. We need as many signatures as possible so spread the word!
