This is a petition for all Holmes High School students, the school has recently taken a different approach to dress code, which has been a concern to many Holmes students. The dress code is seen as rule more aimed towards young women,this makes girls at Holmes unable to feel comfortable in their own school environment. We are ready to change that. This petitions is not just to change dress code, but to allow girl's and all student's voices to be heard, starting with the purse policy. The supreme court has ignored our voices, and now our school!? Sign if you agree!

Seeing this momentum pick up is honestly surreal because I remember when I was just staring at a blank screen thinking maybe no one would even care about the purse rules. It really hits differently knowing so many people feel this exact same frustration with how things are being handled here.

I get they are grunt to protect us but being this “strict” isn’t doing anything but making kids more sneaky and less people getting a proper education
i want to be able to have my phone & my purse on me it’s not fair at all we are suffering from things we had nun to do with

I hate Holmes so much this year
I want freedom
I’ve seen all of the things about the girls not be allowed to wear bags or anything to hold their feminine products which causes the girls to have to leave class or to be late to class because they have to go to their lockers which is all the way across the school as a female this is so disrespectful because depending on what teacher they have in that class they are not allowed to leave their class, also saying you never know a woman flow,, So maybe one day she is bleeding a lot and don’t have the things she feel comfortable using because Holmes believe “ bags are such a big danger to the school” a girl has already been embarrassed she had blood all over her because of this rule,, These young girl could be just coming on their periods and now is embarrassed to have one because they can’t have the feminine products to feel comfortable,, I believe Holmes is making a big mistake (&) yall really should think about this,,, Holmes high should feel like a safe place but we don’t feel this way because y’all have took the one thing that make us feel comfortable in your skin. And please don’t say we have things girls can use because we all know women use different things..!!!!

it makes no sense to ban purses when we literally need them for lady products and stuff like that. stop treating us like little kids
