This petition was created by members of the Jewish community in the Allentown area with regards to the unfair scheduling of school and activities during certain Jewish holidays. In the 2013/14 school year, students were required to attend school on the first two days of the holy holiday of Rosh Hashanah, the jewish new year. Schools were also closed on Friday, September 13th, in observance of the holy Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, which did not begin until after sundown on that day to Saturday, September 14th. It would be very respectful and helpful if a member of the Jewish clergy could be contacted when scheduling the calendar for the future. Thank you
