When someone speaks for a living, their words must be chosen careful. So when this person who does speak as his livelihood and uses the language he has; there must be a consequence. Just for the record, an apology should never be followed by such a negative comment. Shame on him.

I am a firm supporter of freedom of speech, but let's tone down the rhetoric. There's enough anger and hate in the atmosphere of our country today, and we need more civil discourse.

Journalists should adhere to some kind of ethical policy, obviously absent at the Star-Ledger. Tom Moran is head of the Editorial Board! Has Mr. Moran invented this despicable piece of tabloid employing the word "murder?" Or even worse, is he reporting an action the "top Dems" have actually threatened? Using the term "murder" seems to be provocative in a passive sort of way. Kind of like - oops - I didn't mean murder the NJEA leadership (but hey, if you are a crazy person I've given you a new mission. My hands are clean.) Mr. Moran, you are a dangerous person with no management oversight and a pretty big platform. You had a responsibility to your readers in NJ for journalistic integrity. Instead, you've chosen to wallow in muck. Please resign.

Beyond crossing the line, Mr. Moran should be fired for using his position to encourage any kind of violence. Very irresponsible and beyond disgusting.

Moran should be fired for his words to incite violence against NJEA leadership. His non-apology apology is proof of his disdain for New Jersey's teachers and their elected leaders.

Tom is a disgrace and should be fired! He should be made an example of!

Moran's bantering on this topic is old, tired and without substance. He sounds more like Chris Christie than a journalist.

Formal apology is needed. Don't play the taken out of context interpretation. Hypocrite!

Need to be fired. Unacceptable. Inciting people to commit murder. Depraved indifference. I went without a raise for 4 years and didn't ask anyone to murder the governor for being so hard on teachers. I kept head held high continued to teach and had several students to score high on the parcc year after year even though I didn't get raise. Spent money out my pocket even though I didn't get a raise. Watched people make more than me without lifting a finger to help the students make more than me and get bonuses from high test scores. Shame on him and the only way to make people aware of what the say is to hit them in the pockets. I guarantee he did not help me on my gofund me so my students can have laptops.

There's no place for this kind of rhetoric in public discourse.
