The US FLAG was not flown on the original double hulled canoes, to keep this voyage historically and traditionally correct, it shouldn't be flown on it today. The US FLAg has nothing to do with the Hokuleia.

I strongly support this! We are a sovereign nation, our Ka Hae Hawaii should be flown above the U. S. flag. It is not our country.

Hawaii isn't a state of the U. S. It wasn't legally annexed thus making it defacto. It was created by u. s. Congress to set up a private corporation not a state but named it THE STATE OF HAWAII. No treaty of Annexation = No lawful State. Therfore the Hae Hawaii remains on top. The U. S. is an prolonged illegal occupation here. Not lawfully part of the U. S.

Time to rise above, not just figuratively! At this moment in history, it is time, as the song says, to "raise our banners high!" Nevermind being a beacon of hope to the world, let Hokuleʻa be a beacon to the Hawaiians! Time to raise the hae Hawaiʻi high! Time to take down the flag of the oppressor, the thief who stole our lands, waited 100 years to issue an "apology" then smiled and shrugged and continued on with the oppression. Imua Ka Haʻe Hawaiʻi!

Hawaiian Kingdom still exists was never extinguished! Ka Hae belongs on top for it IS an independent sovereign nation and Hokulea should show that to the world
