As a member of the Hidden Oaks Homeowner's Association, I have a concern for the safety of pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists on Mars Crider Rd., specifically the blind spot at the crest of the hill, just beyond the entrance to our neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, request that the Adams Township Board of Supervisors review this area and make immediate plans to address our safety concerns by means of installing a trail, path, sidewalk, or other such measures as the Supervisors see fit, in order to mitigate what is currently an unsafe situation.

Updates

October 17, 2017

The Adams Township Board of Supervisors continues to ignore our emails while residents risk their lives on Mars Crider Rd every single day. I am documenting every near-miss reported here to shove in their faces until they stop dragging their feet and fix this death trap.

I almost hit a walker on that hill ! It is hard to see anyone walking coming over the hill and not really enough room for a walkerr and car! Plus cars speed all the time!

I drive this road nearly everyday. I am always afraid that someone will get hit, especially the nice elderly couple that walk early in the morning when people are heading to work and school. Please vote to install sidewalks or a walking trail.

I support a sidewalk extension over a very dangerous hill. I have used this path to walk to Giant Eagle but abandoned it due to too many close calls with cars. This is a dangerous situation that needs to be addressed.

I'm a regular walker on this hill, the blind spot is extremely dangerous, I have almost been hit, as well as almost hit others while traveling in a car myself. The increased traffic since adding the direct road behind Cardinal Whuerl has significantly increased the danger of this blind spot. Morning and evening rush hour times are the worst. There is actually no space to physically get off of the road at the peak of the hill. We need a safe path before it's too late!

The narrowness of the roadway coupled with the embankments on both sides makes a serious or fatal accident only a matter of time.

Our property values were negatively impacted by the Bettors mound you approved but it didn’t go anywhere. By supporting a safe walkway you have an opportunity to improve safety and help improve the desirability of our neighborhood.

This is so dangerous if you are walking along this area.

A sidewalk is needed here.
