This petition is to advocate a change in the HIS343Y1Y (Modern Espionage) course syllabus and the overall grading structure of the course given the current strike at the University of Toronto. It proposes that the final paper be cancelled as a result of lack of access to academic amenities, including but not limited to the guidance of Teaching Assistants and Professors, lack of necessary materials for completion, including course reserve books and previously online materials. Moreover, some students do not yet have their proposals for their paper and this puts them at a disadvantage to the rest of the class regarding its completion and general quality of the paper. As a result of these factors, this petition advocates a cancellation of the paper and a re-allocation of grades as well as overall re-design of the course grading scheme.
