#HirePharmacistsNow – Ensure Patient Safety in Our Hospitals

Introduction:
In the last 5 years, the Ghana Health Service has not recruited Pharmacists to serve the good people of Ghana. We, the undersigned, call for immediate action to address the critical shortage of pharmacists in hospitals across the region. Medication errors are a leading cause of patient harm, and without trained pharmacists to oversee medication safety, lives are at risk.
The Problem:
Many hospitals lack sufficient pharmacists, leaving an abundance of medications unmanaged by experts. Pharmacists play a vital role in preventing errors, ensuring proper dosages, and safeguarding patient well-being. This gap in care endangers public health and undermines the trust we place in our healthcare system.
Our Demand:
We urge hospital administrators, healthcare policymakers, and government officials to:
1. Prioritize the hiring and retention of trained pharmacists.
2. Allocate resources to address staffing shortages immediately.
3. Implement policies to ensure every hospital has adequate pharmacist oversight.
Why It Matters:
Pharmacists are essential to patient safety. Their expertise saves lives by reducing medication errors and improving care quality. Acting now will protect our communities and strengthen our healthcare system.
Conclusion:
Join us in demanding action. Sign this petition to support the #HirePharmacistsNow campaign and ensure that no patient suffers due to a lack of pharmacist care. Together, we can make a difference.
