I fully support this petition, because I know Stanford employs many dedicated and loving individuals who work alongside the students, but who don't enjoy basic work security. Just the fact this petition has been circulated indicates that Maria Buenrostro goes above and beyond, and augments the dorm living experience for many students. I remember when I was student in Twain dorm, it was refreshing and often enlightening to have conversation with the custodial staff, who offered a perspective way outside of the predictable Stanford academic ones.

I fully support this petition, because I know Stanford employs many dedicated and loving individuals who work alongside the students, but who don't enjoy basic work security. Just the fact this petition has been circulated indicates that Maria Buenrostro goes above and beyond, and augments the dorm living experience for many students. I remember when I was student in Twain dorm, it was refreshing and often enlightening to have conversation with the custodial staff, who offered a perspective way outside of the predictable Stanford academic ones.

My only lament is that Maria is not the only deserving worker who has been obliged to work as a temp for entirely too long. I understand that this issue is pervasive among R&DE workers, even (unbelievably) those who have been working these jobs for years.
