We, the undersigned, believe that Coach Jerry Long should have the Head Coaching position for fastpitch softball. Although it has been said, Mr. Bealswill have the decision of who to hire for the position, the recommendation from him is not final until the school board votes.
Coach Long is a seasoned coach who has the leadership and ability to carry the Lady Braves to future success in their seasons. His strong vision, knowledge, and ability can help lead the team to future state championships. Coach Long not only has great coaching records and stats, he possesses the genuine ability to make every player feel as they are an important part of the team and helps them all to develop and fine tune the skills they need on the field as well as in life. He is a great mentor and coach.
His current win record in slowpitch softball at Tishomingo County is approaching to 500 wins and nearly 1200 in both sports. This past season while coaching baseball at Cherokee High School, he was able to lead them to the playoffs in one season. He was also able to do the same with the Cherokee Fastpitch team in previous years.
Coach Long has been a part of the Tishomingo County School District for many years and wishes to stay apart of this district as a coach and teacher for as long as he can. His true passion is education and coaching to ensure a bright future for generations to come.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people believe in Coach Long and his legacy here. We are nearing a new milestone and it is entirely because of your passion for these players. If we could get just a bit more momentum right now it would show the board exactly where our community stands.

Jerry Long was my high school softball coach and was the best coach I had across the board in all sports basketball tennis and college softball. He does a great job teaching/coaching fundamentals, handles discipline well, and we all had fun playing under his leadership.
i am from kossuth and when we play them, he never has one bad thing to say. when they win or lose, he's always positive. he will tell them exactly what they've done wrong every time. he's always nice to us when we go play there. he's never said one bad thing about our team or any other team.
I had Coach Long as well when I was in school, as a Basketball coach and teacher...he really cares about his kids and wants the best for them and out of them, on a field or in a classroom!! Crazy they even let him go, best bet is to Bring Back the best and thats coach Long!!!
Coach Long has taught many life lessons on the Lady Braves field. He is a fair and honest coach who should be able to coach Fastpitch softball where he teaches and coaches slowpitch. He has an excellent record in coaching. I'm thankful my child has been blessed by his coaching abilities and life lessons. I am honored to have known him
Coach Long had taught me so much in the last four years that I have gotten to play for him. He is so much more than a coach. He teaches more than fundamentals. He has instilled many life lessons that I will carry with me forever.

I played for coach Long, he is a great coach! He taught me so much and made me love softball even more!! There are So many wonderful things that I could say about coach Long but I just want everyone to know that I highly recommend him for fast pitch coach!!!

I was under Coach Long for the first 3 years he coached softball. He is TOUGH. He's mean, even--ha!!! But he's smart. He knows the game. He can train up even those most lacking in talent, IF they are willing to work relentlessly for it. He's one of the best coaches ANYWHERE...EVER.
