President Ford speaks of trends. Ask yourself this, why would the Majors break with the established trend for one Local jeopardizing their position with others. We are not suffering alone. The nations middle class has been going down hill since at least Reagan. The governor of Tennessee and State Senators just threaten Volkswagen with the denial of economic incentives if a plant went Union. This is not just a local 52 issue, it needs to be addressed both locally and nationally, Vote Labor.

Representation with a proven track record please. I'm tired of not adjusted for inflation contracts. Term limited. Let our officers work with these great deals we've been getting.

we deserve the best representation possible for all contract negotiations. I am for the first year ever paying over 3000 for health benefits for my family. Negotiations in the past had us pass on raises to help fund our health insurance coverage. Do we wish we had done that differently now!

Obviously John Ford signed this petition under Gerard Ford's name and made this comment thus Gerard's name has been struck from the petition. John, if you want to sign this petition sign it under your own name. Don't use such an underhanded strategy to enter this conversation. Pay attention to what's going on here everyone.
John, I believe you when you said you and the E-board have done your best in the negotiations. The truth is you and the E board are just not in the same league as the people you are sitting across the table from. Your going up against Ivy league trained lawyers out there John. It's time for a change.
John you say we don't have that much to offer. Ok. Who's responsible for that being the case John? It's time for a change.
You know as well as I do that when you stand up in a meeting and say our only recourse is to strike that this raises the fear level in everyone extremely high and now your doing it again. It's time to move beyond scare tactics and focus on the first step in this debate which is crucial and important: Realizing that there is a problem with who is doing the negotiations for our Local in our contract negotiations. How can I say such a thing? I am just putting words to the obvious reality of the terms that we are working under because how many years have we had to endure these "cost of living raises"? How many of us come home from work on Wednesday at 3am after starting work Tuesday at noon? These quality of life issues HAVE to be addressed and not so with the roll of the eyes when they come up in debates at a meeting. This is killing the membership John. It's time for a change.
John what are you afraid of here? Why do you not want to see people stand together on this issue? Obviously you are for some reason because you've entered this debate by signing another person's name and then signed your own name in the discussion portion of this petition? Ladies and Gentlemen, once again IT'S TIME FOR A CHANG

You are placing too much importance on the lawyers. The employers send their labor relations people to the negotiations, some are lawyers, some are not. Our attorneys are as good, if not better than any of theirs. We actually only negotiate with a very small group of them. True negotiations are just that, negotiation. Trends are set through the employers bargaining with the other Unions in the industry, SAG, Directors Guild, Writers Guild etc.. Employers won't break whatever pattern emerges without getting something significant in return. We don't have that much to offer. If we are looking for significant changes in the contract in my opinion you won't get them without a strike. A strike requires a 2/3 vote of the membership ( roughly 2,400 votes) and permission from the International, so if that's the way a 2/3 majority wants to go start saving your money and start a strike petition instead.

Nothing against the membership or our elected leaders, but we need guys at the table that do this for a living.

Agreed - great place to start. Next is for the newer generations to begin frequenting our union meetings so our voices can be heard. This is not going to be easy. Social media is a good way to make this happen.

Hire the teamsters to negotiate, hands down they have the best contracts in the industry. Their negotiators are available for outside hire and have done so for many across the country.

I commend a certain segment of Local 52 for expressing their absolute dissatisfaction with "process as we have come to know it." Sincerely I do. Yet, next to "food products,"and "Military Defense," the third largest component of our Nation's GDP is "Entertainment." It is time to stop chirping as individuals and come together as a "union." Stop the "owner operator opportunities," negotiate after "scale" as opposed to "accepting this as number as a given," and most importantly, "employ as many brothers and sisters as you can……When a Producer comes to you and says, "Can you do it with less people…." Turn and say, "NO."
