Hindi for kids in Australia (old)
Dear Hindi supporters
Hindi is not included in the Federal Government announcement on 15 September 2014 about launching a new $9.8 million pilot program to deliver foreign language “apps” into 40 preschools next year. Please read the news titled "FOUR-year-olds will be encouraged to learn French, Arabic, Indonesian, Japanese or Mandarin under a new taxpayer funded initiative to get Australian kids speaking a second language. " in the link below

"The new technology will allow preschool students, as young as three and four, to gain foreign language skills through playing educational games on tablet devices. As you can see French, Arabic, Indonesian, Japanese or Mandarin are included but Hindi is not included.
Hindi is 2nd largest spoken language in the world. Indian community is
fastest and fourth largest migrant community in Australia. Hindi is understood by more students in NSW schools than Indonesian, Japanese and French. Please offer your support to this petition requesting Federal Government to include Hindi in the trial next year.
