Hello Friends,

As you all know, I have been the International Students Officer last year, which is a Part-Time Role and this year I want to contest the Students Union Elections for a Full-Time Role. However, I recently found out that I do not qualify as a "student" anymore. So this clause doesn't allow me to contest the elections.

However, as most of you might be knowing the kind of work that I have done & have been doing for the Students & the Students Union, without even getting paid & the relationships that I have forged, I think I deserve a chance to contest the Elections. The Students Union hasn't made its decision or its stand clear in my favor. So, I'm using this petition to show how many students want me to contest the Students Union. After all, its about democracy & if the voice of students is not heard & neglected then what sort of democracy is this?

I'm only two months short of being qualified as a "student". But under the light of my contribution towards the Student Community & Students Union, I think I deserve a chance at the Elections. If I'm unable to do so, I will no longer be allowed to stay in this country.

If I get to contest the Students Union elections & win it, I promise to put in all I have got for the Students, for whom the Students Union works & serves.
