As a rower in the Tampa Bay Area and rowing on the Hillsborough River over the past four years. I was outraged when I heard the news that their was plans to remove the historic art work on the river left by some of the top rowing programs in the country. Furthermore, as an aspiring collegiate rower this art served as a visual goal for us to one day row at one of these schools and the fact that our government wants to destroy such a vital part of the rowing community is terrible.

Local officials think they can quietly erase our rowing history because they assume we are too busy training to pay attention. They are dead wrong and I have been meeting with local stakeholders to show them that this art stays exactly where it is.

Why do they keep trying to ruin everything good about the river front? Leave them alone.

This is ridiculous. I rowed there in high school and those paintings mean way more to the city than the city council seems to think.

My son rows and he loves seeing those murals while he practices. Please dont get rid of them.

If there's anyone who can help us get this cause out into the local media please let me know! I'm writing up an article about it now for a college based web-site but any media we can generate on this will help tremendously
