Our son has been through Hill House (2004-2013)and is now at Eton. That was all down to the teaching at school! Our daughter is currently there and is happy. I'm not sure which school the Ofsted inpectors went to see because it certainly wasn't the school we know!
Commenting as a HH parent, both my girls have received an excellent education at HH in a nurturing and caring environment. As a teacher, I wouldn't want to teach anywhere else- great children, supportive parents and caring well qualified staff. HH is a family.
my experience of hill house is that it is a wonderful school. the children are happy, secure, polite, kind. they do look look stressed, exhausted and white faced like so many other london children who are pushed and forced along. this is more precious than anything
I moved my son from a school where it was well ofsted rated but he was being bullied, he has been really happy at hill house, they have been supportive with his special needs and both he and my daughter are extremely happy at the school
My son is making excellent progress; reading confidently at the age of four and more importantly full of enthusiasm for his school lessons, teachers and fellow pupils. The Ofsted report in no way reflects the school's strengths and achievements.
Hill House is an outstanding school looking after the boys an girls under they care, amazing school great teachers
As an alumni, I have nothing but the best memories of this school. For someone who came to the UK not speaking a word of English, I spent 3 wonderful years at HH and had fantastic memories of my time here. The school operates differently to what OFSTED is used to but doesn't necessarily mean it is a failing school.

Found the comments in the Ofsted report to be contradictory and poorly justified. Not sure how they came to the conclusion that maths and writing are poorly taught at the school but my older child is well ahead of where I was at her age.
