This is my junior year at Hightower High School so for 3 years I have been brought up and became accusomed to the block schedule and for the district to want to take it away from me and ruin my senior year is very inconciderate. I feel like Hightower should stay at the block schedule because that is something all of the students have been through. I actually feel like more schools should be on block because longer class times are needed to get more done in a looser time period, homework as well as studying can be done every other day or for two days in a row and for those of us on teams with class periods more can be done during the school day to change clothes after only 30 minutes of instructional time. other schools don't have to change so why should Hightower?? The Cane Nation dose not want to be broken down into only 7 classes. Also what about off campus? Being that my Senior year is next year I can finally have off campus and because of my 1st period Color Guard class and everyday after school practice I only had the option of 5th period off campus, how am I supposed to have it now?? All the other classes of Hightower had off campuses for at least one of the four class periods offerd? So is there only two now? I feel like the district should be spending less time trying to demote Highgower and the academys it should find a way to better the lunch food, give us color printers. give us updated computers, new textbooks etc. Leave the schedule as it is and cut us a check so I can better my education please

Please reconsider. High school is difficult as it is, changing the block schedule would just make it worse.

Block schedule should not be taken away. It really helps out the students by making it easier for them to understand every class of theirs in depth amd by doing that the students have a hugher performance at Hightower. It is also beneficial for students to keep up with time management so they can take more extra curricular activities such as sports and with the work load of all 7 classes a day that is hard to take care of. Please do not take away block schedule!

This block scheduling was the best thing that happened to hightower. They can't continue to change things. It isn't fair!!!!!!

As a junior, I can say the block schedule has helped me in many ways throughout high school. We were able to take more classes than any other high school in fort bend as well as get more time in each class. Not only does it create a less stressful environment, but it also allows for more opportunities to learn and ask questions. Despite there being tutorials in the mornings and/or afternoons, their schedules tend to clash with students' extra curricular activities and their times. The 90 minute class periods offer more time to communicate with the teacher and amongst peers to get better understandings of different subjects, and still be involved in numerous clubs and organizations. To balance these activities and 7 classes on a daily basis is difficult to adjust to. This type of schedule not only affects my peers' and my education, but also it interferes with our goals and plans that were made in advance about the classes we wish to take in the coming year(s). Coming into high school I-like many others- planned out the classes I wished to take to fulfill the graduation requirements as well as prepare for the future. We are required to take 4 core classes every school year as well as others to meet the standards of graduation. On top of all of that, there are classes specific to the academies that are required. By cutting down on the number of classes we are able to take, some of us are faced with an unfair ultimatum of either meeting the graduation requirements or following our passion.

Block scheduling has been very beneficial to me . It becomes quite difficult to manage time as a high school student .Block scheduling allows more flexibility because less complex teaching schedules create more opportunities for students success . I think block scheduling is great and every high school school should have it ! Please reconsider this decision .
