Unbelievable, how can class of 2016 be told as freshman, sophomores and juniors that we will have 8 classes senior year so it is ok to wait to take the required courses such as health, speech,(both semester courses) and art (a year long course). Just think about it if I have 4 core classes and a required medical class how am i suppose to do my varsity sport or JROTC both possibly giving large scholarships.

Transitioning from a 7 period schedule to an 8 period day schedule was a huge difference. but after I got used to the block schedule, I fell in love with it. The block schedule has helped me insanely with homework and studying. In classes, the 7 period schedule was never enough time to learn certain subject, but with the block schedule, we can grasp the concept better.

At first, I didn't understand the purpose for the block schedule. I came from another school in the district to Hightower, and found how helpful it has been. It allows more space to be more involved with the academy courses and practicums. It also prepares the students to be responsible and learn to be organized with their scheduling & work. This upcoming school year is my senior year, and there has been enough changes to the school since the starting of the school year. Visiting a hospital will be difficult within 90 minutes of class time to go and come to the campus. Please, allow Hightower to continue the way it has been. The block schedule has been a great factor in the students' lives now, and the ones who have graduated. The purpose for everything is for the student's success right? Or is it more about money?

I did 11 subjects throughout primary and highschool, both junior and senior. I was on a block schedule so and have no idea how I would've managed to carry all my books and textbooks without it. As an honour student in university, it is imparrative that students get enough time to learn both in class and during homework hours.
