I think block schedule is better than having all of our classes in one day .Then we will have to pack more work and more binders and we will have to get our homework done in one days instead of two days

I'm a freshman, and I believe that the block schedule is beneficial to the entire student body. In my opinion, the block schedule has and will be very helpful to our graduates and incoming students. Transitioning from middle school to high school was pretty rough for me, but with the block schedule, I was able to adjust quickly. Now I have more time to study, be socially active, and participate with extracurricular activities. Without the block schedule, students would have less opportunities to double up in core classes, electives, academy classes, and/or internships. Additionally, students interested in sports may not be able to have their athletic periods. In conclusion, the block schedule at Hightower High school should NOT be taken away.

As an upcoming senoir this will have a serious effect on not only the classs i plan on taking next year but on ability to keep all my classes as well as my study time in check. We've had a block schedule for so long that just up and taking away isnt going to anything but hinder the school as a whole in the long run

We should continue to have block scheduling. It helps us focus more on the subjects we need help in

The block schedule at HHS is one of the greatest features of our school for a number of reasons. First, the block schedule serves as a facilitator for students’ success, even after graduation. It prepares students for the style of college classes; Hightower graduates have a significantly smoother transition into college due to having already adapted to staying focused and attentive in long classes. Secondly, the block schedule provides for uninterrupted instruction which helps tie lessons and promotes understanding to a far greater degree than what could ever be achieved in a 7-period day. Furthermore, the 7-period day schedule is incompatible with the heralded internship opportunities that the HHS academies provide. The block schedule allows student interns to have the time to go out into the field and get hands on experiences and develop skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their careers. Hightower has great relationships with the Veteran's Affairs Hospital and M.D. Anderson and we have students learning and working alongside some of the world’s greatest experts and health care professionals at those hospitals and at other health care facilities in the Houston area. These students go on to attend some of the nation's most highly ranked universities and become great contributors to society upon graduation, earning various degrees such as PhD's, M.D's, DO's, DDS's, and so many other’s that hold great prestige and create lasting impacts on the lives and world around them through the work that these degree holders do. And this is not merely talk or speculation; At HHS, we have an entire hallway that has the faces of some of the Alumni who achieved their dreams and reached their goals because of Hightower High school as its wallpaper. This is all made possible by the existence of the block schedule. Aren't the core pillars of FBISD to "Inspire, Equip and Imagine"? If HHS begins operating on a 7-period schedule, the internship program would be killed an
