Subject: Petition Support for Additional Options to High School Expansion Referendum Proposal
This petition is supported by the undersigned in response to the recommendation that a Referendum be proposed that would only include an addition to the existing High School and a new elementary school.
It is our belief that community-wide input should be obtained as the majority support for either a) an addition to the existing High School, or
b) the building of a second High School as part of the proposed Referendum. Sufficient analytics and experiences should be shared with the broader community to educate on the benefits and challenges of both options.
We believe it is in the District's best interest to engage the whole community in an effort to understand concerns and preferences. We fear that not including multiple options will cause a negative reaction and subsequently, a lack of approval. Further, lack of approval will delay funding required to alleviate the capacity issues facing our high school and elementary facilities in the coming years.
