Son playing 2 varsity sports and had to do PE credits online. Learned much more about healthy lifestyles from coaches and teammates than an online assessment.

With after school rigorous sports schedules and the extra credits required to graduate, LWSD needs to support this. Our neighboring school districts do this and it’s time we made the change too.

Surrounding districts have this policy which helps student athletes manage their time much more effectively.

Sports take up an important chunk of high school students time and should be counted towards PE credit.

My son is at Redmond High and my daughter is at Redmond Middle. This petition would reflect the significant time commitment involved in playing sports and would meet the goals for physical activity reflected in PE requirements while giving students more choices re how to spend their class time. Win - win.

This makes so much sense. So many other districts do this.

Moses Lake High School in Moses Lake WA (I have family there) do this. They are a 4A school. I believe 2 completed sports seasons can count for PE credit. It makes so much sense.

This is especially important as the graduation requirements for high school and college prep have gotten much more involved. The kids playing sports should have this consideration made for their additional efforts!

Standard PE is silly in this day and age.i mean who wants to get up get dressed go to two classes...then PE...get sweaty and have to get ready again. In less than 1 hour.
