Our nap times in our early school life was unnecessary and pointless because when we were younger we had no homework, more energy, and less stress overall. Now in high school and working jobs, students are getting home late to do homework and trying to catch up on sleep they’ve missed the past few nights. Students sleep in class anyways so why don’t we implement a down time after lunch in school for students to catch up on their sleep they missed the previous night due to extracurricular activities such as work, homework, sports, or even their social life.
Reaching this level of support has been exhausting but necessary. Seeing so many people recognize how burned out students truly are confirms that we are fighting for something real.
