High Point Estates Elementary School Boundary

Please keep our boundaries as is. Elm Lawn and Kromrey are the only closest options for us. Both West Middleton and Glacier creek will be very far for the kids and it will very difficult for the parents and kids to manage the after school activities, pick up, drop off etc.. Also proximity plays a major role for kids to create much connections to their school friends after school.

The much longer commute to Glacier Creek would be a significant strain on families in this neighborhood and an unreasonable burden for the children. Longer commutes invariably put children at increased risk for traffic accidents, inadequate sleep, etc. Thank you for considering this impact on our kids!

The topic of changing high point school bundary was discussed in previous years. There were a lot of good discussions with same reasons as mentioned in this petition letter which lead to the decision of no change. The uncertainty associated with continuing to bring the same topic back significantly impacts the life of the families and students in the neighborhood.

I have been an active volunteer in both Elm Lawn as well as on the PTO board at Kromrey and very much prefer to keep my children in the exceptional atmosphere of these two respective schools.

These schools (especially the Glacier Creek MS) are too far from us and would be very challenging for the children and families. Please pleasr keep us where we are! Thanks!

Having children who attended W. Middleton and Glacier Creek prior to the current boundaries I can attest to the difficulties and challenges of the travel time to those schools, particularly Glacier Creek, and the lack of engagement in extra-curricular activities as well as parental involvement in the schools.

Please leave our boundaries as is! We are already a fair distance from our school and kids' friends. We don't want to make the distance even further! It would greatly impact their involvement in after school extra curricular activities, given longer commute times. I volunteer quite a lot at the elementary school. Staff know me, and I have built a relationship with many students. Moving my middle school student in 6th grade to a whole new school with no familiar faces would be devastating to her! I want their school years to be happy ones. Kids have enough challenges as it is, without adding more uncertainty.

The distance from HP Estates to Glacier Creek is not very manageable. Parents in this neighborhood are very involved with Kromrey activities because it is not too far of a drive, that would likely change if they had to make excursions out to Cross Plains. Further, the majority of Middleton neighborhoods have to be closer to Glacier Creek than HP Estates.

We love Elm Lawn and Kromrey. Please keep this neighborhood within the current schools. I agree with others comments that we have committed parents and want to stay involved. Increased distance makes that harder.

Disappointed with the school districts change! Unprofessional and unrespectful!

Moving my kid from Elm Lawn to another school will hurt her feeling because she loves Elm Lawn elementary school!

This is absolutely the wrong thing to do. You do not uproot an entire neighborhood and send them out to cross plains. High point estates resides in Madison and is already one of the farthest neighborhoods away attending Middleton schools. To take this neighborhood and add addition travel time will negatively impact the students first and foremost (friends, teacher relationships, longer bus rides, etc) but also the parents who pay massive taxes and would now spend more time/money getting to and from schools. Not to mention parent involvement which (I predict) will dramatically decrease in our neighborhood. We will fight with all available resources and if that doesn’t work...I’ll be the first to put our home on the market. Who will want to buy a house in HPE if kids are being shipped to cross plains? This starts to make other school districts and neighborhoods much more appealing if we are basically starting over. It would be great if city officials start “strategically” thinking as the city/neighborhoods expand instead of “reacting” after the problems occur.

Moving current Kromrey students to Cross Plains is a very poor outcome for our children who are attending school in Middleton. This move would be traumatic for our son. In addition the logistics for additional time on the bus, significant additional time for attending school events and the additional cost associated with travel is a very poor outcome for current Kromrey students. Our son's relationship with current Kromrey peers will be harmed, causing our son to suffer needlessly. If necessary, our r family will fight this decision with all available resources.
