It is sad when a big developer does not respect a city’s vision by trying to forgo and bypass the bylaws that are in place for good community living. Developers such as this should not have the ability to muscle their way to big profits at the expense of smart city planning. It is egregious that a developer shows such disregard.

I am concerned about the harmful impact that rezoning the land for high-density use will be detrimental to the site and the surrounding communities. In brief, the available land cannot reasonably be expected to support such a development.

Council needs to listen to its residents and stop approving any application that exceeds the allowable densities. Providing cash in lieu of recreation / green space has got to STOP!

I hope the town shows some prudent foresight and long term planning which doesn’t include overdevelopment and will have detrimental consequences for the Collingwood community.
