We have launched this petition in response of the governments decision to desolve HEC (Higher Education Commission) Pakistan.
This decision is created perplexity and uncertainty in the country and all intellectual, civil and social society of Pakistan is concerned about it.
HEC not only helped Pakistani universities to get world recognition but also promoted them to improve the world ranking. It has Secured foreign scholarships, increased University enrolment from 135,000 in the year 2003 to 400,000 plus in 2010. Promoted research. Increased 600 research papers /yr in 2003 to more than 4300 research papers. Fifty one new universities are established.
We strongly oppose these changes and amendments and appeal the government to scrap any proposals those leads to dissolve of this prestigious institutions that has great reputation worldwide.
We request all students to sign this petition and share their views to make our case stronger.

I honestly did not think this would take off like it has when I first started typing this out in a fit of frustration late at night. Seeing so many people actually care about the future of our universities makes my head spin in the best way possible because it reminds me we are not just screaming into a void.

This is ridiculous. HEC is the only thing keeping our education standards from falling apart completely. Leave it alone.
