HGV Ban for Wilford Lane

With the new retirement homes, two schools, Roko, and the tram crossing, and the new housing adjacent to Roko, this road is already far too busy and hastoo many properties right on the roadside for HGV's. Yes, ban them! Compton acres too.

Wilford Lane is a 'B' road. It struggles to support the current volume of traffic at peak times. Additional development planned for a supermarket, restaurant/pub two retirement complexes and the construction of 171 houses will only add to the traffic flow even before the A52 improvement scheme commenses. Additional Heavy Goods Vehicles diverting from the A52 will only compound the traffic congestion on Wilford Lane, creating pedestrian safety, noise and pollution, (already registered high at the Loughborough Road junction). I support this petition for the introduction of weight restriction for HGV's on Wilford Lane.

I don't think Wilford Lane can support higher traffic flows. Given the school on the road and the fact there are children crossing the street at all times, it would be a safety risk too.

Wilford Lane is supposed to be just that - a Lane not a main arterial road. It is too busy already. No heavy traffic up and down Compton Acres either please.

Wilford Lane is already overwhelmed with traffic and the development of the news homes by Linden, the confirmed plans to build flats on the land next to Poppy close and the proposed plans for a Lidl and flats on the land in front of Becket school is going to dramatically increase traffic. Adding HGVs into the mix (at all times of the day and night?) just simply isn't feasible!

Wilford Lane is ridiculously busy at the moment and there should be no inducement for HGV's to use this route as a diversion from the ring road

The County Council should surely honour its environmental policies and put a stop to noise and air polluting HGVs driving through a residential area. We support a weight restriction on Wilford Lane.

Traffic is horrendous on Wilford lane as it is and my house shakes with the large lorries. I do not want any more using this road. It is also a major safety concern.

Wholly support the petition.Lived on Wilford Lane for the last 40 years and it is too busy now and with HGV's adding to the noise level and congestion it would become a nightmare.

With increasing housing throughout the area traffic will only get worse, this seems a sensible idea to at least have some minimal impact for the residents of Wilford Lane

We already suffer with the number of HGV's with the associated noise and ground vibration on Wilford lane - something needs to be done to prevent this increasing during the road work period. 4 Wilford Lane, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7QX

Wilford Lane is struggling to cope with the current level of traffic. We thought it was busy when we moved here 35 years ago, little did we imagine how ridiculous it would become . New housing developments, 2 huge schools, a large and busy medical centre, plus a popular health centre AND a tram crossing! Soon to be more housing and a nightmare development next to Beckett. Large numbers of HGVs thunder along this road all through the day AND night. I whole heartedly support this petition. Julie Williams

NG2 7TJ There is already too much traffic on Wilford Lane and this will only get worse with proposed developments. HGV's are far too large for the road and they do not always drive within the speed limit causing further issues. There needs to be a ban on HGV's using Wilford Lane. How many more vehicles can it take?

Wilford lane is not sized for this type of traffic, and with the new proposed development by the school this will be just impossible, now at commuting time the traffic is just over whelming

I am really exasperated with the increased volume and noise and pollution from traffic on Wilford Lane
