Here is the school's link to the MDC Medical Campus directory with all the emails and phone numbers of the Dean Dr. Pettigrew, and the chairperson Dr. Yates, so that we can send this petition out: http://www.mdc.edu/medical/Nursing/rn_faculty.asp
Additionally, Dr. Ferrer is our medical campus president should we need to contact his extension: http://www.mdc.edu/medical/campus-information/

I believe we all need to come together as a group and make out voice heard !!! My nursing experience with MDC has been horrible. I expected it to be difficult and I expected to have to put a lot of work and hours into it. I NEVER expected the lack of communication, disregard for students, and the lack of knowledge from the professors. I will not attend pinning because my memories with MDC have not been anything worth celebrating about. I will celebrate with my family and classmates who helped me through this. By the looks of HESI a lot of us will not be grading on time.

I think the important thing is to contact chairpersons in our school. If that doesn't work we can try the president of our campus. If that doesn't work we can try Dr.Padron. Lastly, (which I hope it doesn't escalate to that), it'll be a peaceful protest outside the school along with contacting channel 7 news media:

Hello All - We are very close to our goal for 300 signatures! This is great news to see the student body coming together.
Wanted to provide update on next steps:
1. The petition has been updated. Some copy changes were made & excerpts from a research study by the NLN on Exit Exams have been added. Please read, it's very interesting that a governing body has already identified the issues we are experiencing.
2. Plan of attack is as follows:
MONDAY, DEC 1 - Present this petition during the 'student affairs committee' meeting. Some of the administration will be in attendance.
Also,copies of this petition will be delivered to the Chair of each program, the Dean and the President.
Time TBD (waiting for confirmation). Everybody is welcomed to attend. I will post details as soon as I receive.
THURS or FRI (DEC 4 or 5th) - Prepare a student Rally at the school (3rd floor and outside) if we don't hear back from the administration. We are working on getting the media involved if need be.

That's his email and he answers. I had a complain before and I contacted him because nobody helped me, all they did was gave me excuses. After he called the school, they ran. Then everybody started calling me and apologizing, and of courses they fixed the problem.

For those who think that things are not going to change for the better in our school:
You are entitled to your opinions, and that's ok. However, be mindful that you may not get your diploma. Be mindful that you were robbed by MDC because you put forth time, money, and sacrifice and in the end you'll get nothing. We live in a country where we are entitled to express our freedom of speech and actions in a civilized manner. We, of all people, are more entitled than most people because we have an education. We have that privilege that you don't have in other countries. This makes us more capable of making positive changes in our lives, future and generation. Isn't that the reason we live here? Because we want better lives? We live in a country where you shouldn't be afraid or ashamed to do what you feel is right in your heart.
For those whose English is not their first language, you are at a greater disadvantage of not passing HESI than the rest for the simple fact that English is NOT your first language, yet, we stand firm and represent you. We need you to do your part and represent us. We simply cannot do this without your full support. Remember, students first!

In the study pocket guide they give us in the first orientation before we star the program it says that we are going to take first exit exam kapplan and second and third try was ATI and they change just at the end.

MDC paid for a professional HESI seminar, and that instructor herself said that," you can't pass thinking you are gonna start studying 1 month before the exam date. You need the whole school year to prepare for the exam."

UPDATE ON PETITION (DEC 1st)
1. We have an appointment tomorrow Tues, Dec 2nd @10:15am to meet with the Campus President, Dr. Ferrer. Everyone is welcomed & encouraged to join. We need to show unison from all the programs - Generic & Bridge can you send some representatives?
2. Petition was read outloud during the 'student affairs committee meeting'. Also copies of the petition were left for each of the Chairs (Dr Yates, Dr Browne, and Dr. Ditto). Each chair wants to hear from their respective students (ie. Generic/Bridge chairs did not want to speak with AO students)
3. Please join the FB group to get updates more quickly. This bulletin does not have that feature. Search for group:

4. Rally is now planned for Monday, Dec 8th,(Time TBD) if things dont get resolved this week.
