I am a nursing student at Rhode Island College who is also being denied graduation due to failing to meet the benchmark score set by the school of nursing. This practice needs to be stopped, and should be viewed as a disgrace to the nursing profession!

I am about to fail nursing school all because of being graded for HESI Tests. Some of their questions are poorly worded and have incorrect data in them. HESI should be a learning tool, not a factor of my grade.

I agree that we should all refuse to go to pinning if nothing is done. I will not be attending because I do not want to hear Dr Pettigraw speak nonsense after she has done NOTHING for the students. Thanks to us students she makes a living at MDC. They have disregarded us as if we dont matter.
I think we should stand as a whole class and those of us who failed refuse to attend pinning. I for one will not attend. I refuse to celebrate something which MDC Nursing may not grant me after all of my hard work. They do not care about us (the student).

The style and quality of teaching must reflect the test expectations. Large numbers of students who scored well enough on the teas test to get into the program should not be failing an exit test. The cause is most likely the test, teaching or both.
