Port Hope town councilors are split in their votes about allowing the organizers of the Heroes Highway Motorcycle Rally to make Port Hope their destination, and the HBIA has unanimously voted against it. The Rally is run to honour our Veterans and raise funds for Veteran's organizations. Our town, "...felt it won’t have an economic impact and did not fit the image of the quiet, historic municipality...".

The signatories of this petition believe that not welcoming this group is a short sighted and incredibly disrespectful move on the part of Port Hope. Members of our military don't shy away from the loud noises or the inconvenience of providing service to our country. The fund raising efforts of the rally organizers and participants should be welcomed and appreciated by our town not turned away.

Please sign this petition to let the Municipality of Port Hope and the organizers of the rally know that we, the voters of this community and patrons of the downtown businesses are all in favour of having the rally in our town.
