The lighting quality is not my specialty, however not having lights on the South field make using all fields at night impossible. If they upgrade the lights they need to focus on the smaller fields too.
As a local Lighting Designer here in Hermosa Beach, I sincerely agree that Clark Field would benefit from lighting upgrades to better the viewing experience for evening games, and provide a safer environment for those playing.

An upgrade to the lights at Clark Field is long over due. The only field in Hermosa Beach that has multiple users, HBLL, Adult Softball and AYSO not to mention the basketball and tennis courts and lawn bowling. The users of Clark Field deserve to have a well lit sports field to chase their dreams on.

Having had two sons in LIttle League and other Hermosa Rec sports, this is a much needed improvement for our primary athletic field in Hermosa. It will benefit our youth and the surrounding community.

Our family has used both the baseball fields and tennis courts extensively. Both my son and daughter played baseball for 8-10 years each, and would attest to the fact that many times it was quite hard to see the ball during night games. Currently, all 4 of us in the family focus mainly on tennis and find it VERY difficult to play on our own Hermosa courts, past dusk. Despite the fact that the courts have lighting, many of the people we have all tried to play against refuse to have challenge matches with us at the Hermosa courts due to the poor visibility there in the evenings. The lighting situation goes from 'bad' to 'worse' when you compare the Pier Ave courts, with the ones by Clark Field. We have made many inquiries into having improved lighting at the tennis courts and we hope this time something will actually be done.

As a former Little League President, Board Member and Coach - we have long been pushing to upgrade the lighting at Clark Stadium. The efforts of past and present Board of Directors have contributed to many tremendous upgrades to Clark over the years - all with the cooperation of city personnel who have been very supportive. We are fortunate to have a field that allows us to play at night but the quality of the "on field" illumination is poor and there is a tremendous amount of ambient light that escapes and is wasted. A more modern lighting system will illuminate our playing surface so much better, save the city a tremendous about in the cost to light the field and isolate most of the light to the field itself and not the surrounding neighborhoods. But in the end this upgrade would benefit and provide a safer playing environment for our kids and adults who use Clark Stadium all year long. Please help spread the word and support our cause get this much needed upgrade to our fabulous field.

I would love to see improvements to these facilities, but do not want the funding to be influenced by the pending oil drilling.

As a lifelong Hermosa Beach resident & local tennis pro, I strongly urge the city of Hermosa Beach to upgrade the lighting at all the above mentioned facilities ~ especially at the Pier Ave & Kelly tennis courts which are horrendously outdated. Get with the times Hermosa in offering our residents and the general public the proper lighting at these facilities which we rightly deserve!

As a former HBLL Board Member and parent of 2 former little leaguers, I would love to see new lighting that is way overdue for Clark Field. Clark Field is used year-round by over 450 kids just in HBLL alone. Adult Softball, AYSO, amongst other teams use this field as well and it has become an inviting, community-based, safe haven for HB kids and adults. Please support this much needed upgrade so we can ensure better safety and enjoyment for the community at large.
