As a Greek community with such rich culture and values we can only be embarrassed by the notion that a 60 year old building be considered heritage. Perhaps in another 200 years. Definite no to this heritage listing.

The church building should not be heritage listed as there are many improvements that have occurred over the years, the building as it currently appears is not of any significant heritage value and the church should be able to continue to make improvements without the unnecessary costs of a heritage listed building.

Our church community is a vibrant one that attracts faithful from all over Sydney. The services, which are live streamed, reach the wider Australian population as well as overseas viewers because of the English content and the relevance of Orthodoxy for today. We need to grow this church not stifle it.

There is no way that St. George Greek Othodox Church in Rose Bay is a Heritage Building . St. George Church was built in 1962. How can it be Heritage!

Our church in Rose Bay does not require Heritage Listing since the building is successfully cared for by the parishioners and it is not the original structure having been built in 1962 then improved over the years. The complications of Heritage Listing are expensive and not necessary for this community.

Heritage listing this building would not be appropriate. Heritage listing a living, breathing building/institution is a mistaken application of tradition and conservation.

Heritage listing of the building in the circumstances is not appropriate; however Woollahra Council could busy itself in Heritage listing some of its existing structures. It is a nice enough building but it is not the Parthenon.

I do not agree with heritage listing a modern style building especially when so many aspects have been updated & are not significant as a structure.
The church as the custodians of the bricks & mortar should & will be able to make the best decisions for the structure to fit the needs of the Church family it looks after.
