The last of its kind with only 300 butterfly species left in the Philippines, the Red-Bodied Swallowtail butterfly is extremely endangered and endemic. This butterfly species is only found in the Philippines and nowhere else on the planet because it adapted to its habitat there. Endemic and endangered species are important for our biodiversity on Earth, if we completely eliminate these species, we'll be taking away other species' food source. By allowing the Red-Bodied Swallowtail to stay endemic and endangered, we will destroy the food chain through chain effects not knowingly.
