Sounds like a very good reason to make the journey and visit Helston.

Preserved lines bring in tourists, that no doubt this region of Cornwall could well do with. One of the best things that preserved railways bring to the local community, is ‘Community’. Locals give much of their spare time to work on such initiatives. Many younger people get their first chance at real engineering working on preserved lines. They love it & this leads to them progressing into engineering as a career. This is a career that we all know too well is lacking in quality people. No disused railway route, structure or building should ever be demolished, we never know what the future holds. To use any old infrastructure for preserved lines, trailways, pubs etc, is the only way to go. By using these historic elements, they are preserved/renovated for all of our futures. STOP being Nimby’s & back a Great British movement for your local residents futures.

Preserved railways, particularly in rural areas help boost tourism and bring visitors into the area, creating extra income for local businesses as well as the railway. Cornwall has relatively few preserved railways when you consider the amount of closed lines that exist.

Get this going - and introduce steam motive power on the St Erth-St Ives line too!

There is no rational reason why this railways expansion would not be an asset to the area.

I hope the scheme comes to fruition and isn't scuppered by nimbys.

We must ensure the preservation of what railways we have left as they will be the answer to road congestion. Any act which severs rail routes will make future connections impossible.

Helston Parish Council, please do not be so daft as to turn your back on your heritage and jeopardise the interesting project that is bound to bring more visitors to your lovely little town.

I strongly object to this closure. Many railways closed could in hindsight have been reopened with stations being brought back to life had it not been for the Government of the day being short sighted regarding future use. Today more than ever Cornwall needs investment and jobs. This will assist in providing them.

I would like this application to be approved. It is a wonderful opportunity to create a small, unobtrusive heritage centre that would undoubtedly attract tourists, visitors and a boost to the local economy. Small to begin with but certain to grow. Jobs would follow. Please do not allow blinkered nimblyism to thwart a promising and long term beneficial project.

The scheme as run by the society will only bring extra life to the area. Therefore, it should be supported.
