Macon, let's get in shape!

I know so many women and men out there who would love the opportunity to be taught dance. But many dance studios in Middle Georgia don't teach dance to adults who have no prior experience.

On April 5, 2011, I'm going before the Macon City Council to ask for a 90-day dance boot camp. A challenging, yet encouraging environment to be pushed to learn clean technique, flexibility and increased stamina.

If my presentation is successful, I'm hoping for these styles to be taught:
BALLET, JAZZ, CONTEMPORARY, and/or HIP HOP.

It'll be a FUN, EFFECTIVE way for many who are dancers at heart to learn formally, get in shape or just have fun!!

If this petition is successful, I'll present the results when I go before the council during my presentation!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, MACON. Let's dance!!

Updates

August 11, 2017

The level of enthusiasm regarding this proposal for a community dance program has exceeded my initial expectations. This momentum provides a clear indication that many residents value the opportunity for creative physical activity. I am prepared to present this collective interest to the city council to demonstrate the demand for such an initiative.

Finally! I have been wanting to learn jazz for years but everywhere is just for little kids. This would be so great to do after work.

I really need a better way to get cardio in. Running is boring and this sounds way better.

We as seniors need to keep active. Not all of us like to play checkers !
