Walid is precisely the sort of young man this country needs and should welcome. And it would be entirely inhuman and nonsensical to send him to Afghanistan. That it should even be considered makes me ashamed of my country.

Please allow Walid to stay in the UK. He has worked hard and excelled in circumstances that would have made most people crumble. He deserves to be given a chance in Britain.

The powers-that-be spend how much time agonizing over what induces certain young people to become radical extremists - I only care about this young man and his position but surely this deportation could come back and bite us if it is allowed to go through - where is the sense in it all, my heart bleeds! Who do we want on our side? I do not get involved in any petitions (except for the bees!) but this situation has incensed me to the very core!

He is a contributing member of British society and with his history, Asylum should be automatic. If he goes back he will be killed and the Taliban are growing stronger every day. It should not be up for question.

How come the British Government allows illegal immigrants with criminal records to roam our streets, but want to kick out people like Walid? Answer; Soft target. Easy to keep up the figures with little or no effort.

After hearing about this on TV tonight I am disgusted by the British Government wanting to deport Walid! Please let common sense and humanity prevail and let Walid stay in the UK.

Ridiculous situation. He has proved to be a bright, hard working young lad who has learnt a needed skill and can pay his way here. Desperately worrying if they go ahead and send him to Afghanistan....

England is supposed to be the most caring biggest supporter of human rights in the world. Deporting this young man is most cruel. Perhaps the person making this final decision should put him/her son or grandson in Walid's position and then make a decision.

My husband was in the RAF and was passionate about giving men like Walid a chance. Please, we have many people who don't deserve to stay here, this man does.
