Help Us Keep Asynchronous Wednesdays
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, students all throughout the world have been faced with the decision to either go to school with a hybrid plan or to stay at home and learn virtually. In Owen J. Roberts school district, numerous students (including myself) have chosen the virtual learning option, and although we're receiving the same information as our in-person peers, we're also forced to sit in front of our computer screens for eight hours a day, five days a week. With asynchronous Wednesdays, cyber students are able to take a break from the overwhelming amount of screen time, and recharge for the last days of the week, while also continuing with their assignments, and checking in with teachers when needed. Taking away this asynchronous day will negatively impact both virtual learning and hybrid learning students throughout our district. These days provide students with a much needed "buffer" to recollect ourselves. School is stressful enough without the prospect of a global pandemic in the back of our minds constantly, and these asynchronous learning Wednesdays positively impact the students of Owen J. Roberts school district. Please sign the petition and share it with friends, parents, and members of the district to help try and keep asynchronous Wednesdays!
