What is this i just heard from my son that there is no prayer space. What a disgrace. Lae you make me sick. You make it sound as if Lae is a good college but its not. Thank god i found this out early on. My son will be transferring to another college. Absolutely disgusting. Other colleges are way better than Lae. You selfish people make me sick. Give them their prayer space you fools!!!!

This is a good college, the best in the area, but I think the attitude has got to change from management - otherwise it is doomed to fail. I hope they take this petition into account, but suspect it will make no difference because students and parents have been trying to enter dialogue with management but have faced a blanket NO response.

The students are not even asking for a dedicated room, just a space where they can perform their prayers - and only in winter when it is impossible to find alternatives or to get home in time. The students and management all know this is possible - at every lunch break their are ample spaces available but just an unwillingness from the college to accommodate their students. As one former commentator stated, they have no practising Muslims amongst the governors or staff (to the best of my knowledge) hence have no idea on the strength of feeling on this. Even friends of the college management at the Quilliam Foundation cannot deny that Muslims need to perform the 5 obligatory prayers (however far they are from the mainstream view).

I think LAE should consider closing down and possibly re-open in Shropshire. They will most likely have no faith community their asking them for a prayer space. They have no interest in meeting the needs of the local community they serve in East London and are making no effort to work with students and the community.

We live in advance society where no one should be belittled or discriminated by their race, religion or any form of disabilities. Islam is peace and we shall stand for peace. Lets work together and join hands to form one community for the sake of humanity. It would be a greatful appreciation for the leaders of this school to.have open minded and embrace all cultures. We CAN learn from each other. Salam (peace)

It is a religious duty to perform their daily prayers. If they were going to have a cigarette break yeah that would be fine.

It's not fair to force the people to not practice their religion specially in UK where we thought it is mix culture.

Horrible show of respect by the school. Headmaster should be sacked.
