Final supporters
We are hoping to open up the middle of the brewery as additional taproom and cafe space (currently our capacity is ~100, and we're hoping to build out space for an additional ~70 people). This would give us the opportunity to get more people inside (ideally no more lines!), host more events, create a private venue for parties and functions, and have more general space for games, beer, snacks, and fun.
The problem is this: we've maxed out our allotted seating in the current taproom space, and to even start thinking about an expansion, we need to apply to the Cambridge Zoning Board for permission to add more chairs. We need your help in convincing the Board that the space just wouldn't be same if it was standing room only - we need more seats too! Our application to the board will be for 35 additional chairs; if the Board grants more seating, we'll be able to go back to the Cambridge Licensing Authority and ABCC to apply for an alteration of premises, and hopefully begin the build-out ASAP.
If you're willing to support the project and extra places to sit your bum, please sign the petition to the right. We'll be submitting the signatures to the Zoning Board prior to the meeting to (hopefully!) demonstrate the demand for additional comfortable taproom and cafe space. Thank you so much for the help!

Lamplighter is quickly becoming a cornerstone of our neighborhood. Its pop-up food nights, which showcase local food entrepreneurs, are helping to foster a vibrant local economy. I support expanded seating to ensure that this exciting new business is able to grow.
Additional seating is necessary. This is a taproom not a club. People need to sit- People who have physical jobs, a long work week, an injury, a medical illness. Let's be real, anyone over 30 is going to want to sit to enjoy their beer. Give them chairs.
Living right nearby, Lamplighter is a wonderful, respectful neighbor. Never rowdy, drawing mostly from the immediate vicinity, expanding the seating/capacity would help to alleviate lines that form outside .
Lamplighter is a few blocks from our home, and its presence has been a real benefit to the community. However, there have been lines outside in the winter due to insufficient space inside. There is clearly demand here and it would be helpful to have more seating inside.
I recently visited Lamplighter and it was spacious and inviting but almost too much space with so little seating. I would highly recommend more chairs and stools. Lisa

I love Lamplighter, and expanding the brewery space to allow some of the space to be renting for private parties/functions is awesome. Events drive more revenue and exposure, for Lamplighter and nearby restaurants. I would have my wedding reception here if the space were expanded :)
